Key Vaca
Key Vaca is an island in the middle Florida Keys. It is entirely in the city of Marathon, Florida.
Key Vaca is located between Fat Deer Key and Knight's Key.
U.S. Route 1 (or the Overseas Highway) crosses the key at approximately mile markers 47.5-53.5.
The latitude of Key Vaca is 24.718N. The longitude is -81.069W.
The island was named by Spaniards for the abundance of manatees around. The Spanish referred to manatees as "sea cows" (vaca is Spanish for cow).
