International wrestling flavor in South Florida

After your fill of WrestleMania and surrounding events, South Florida features two shows with international flavor in April.

Puerto Rican wrestling superstars are set to appear 6:30 p.m. Saturday, April 5 at Coco's, 4 N Krome Ave. in Homestead for the Independent Wrestling Zone, a new South Florida wrestling company based in Miami.

Stars include the 6-10 Black Pain from Carlos Colon's camp at the World Wrestling Council in Puerto Rico and former WWC superstar and current IWA star Damian along with other Puerto Rican talents who reside throughout Florida.

Super Gladiator, Anarchy, Bad Boy, Shadow, Benny Blanco and long-time Puerto Rican wrestling star Rico Casanova, who manages wrestling legend Scott Hall, will also appear.

Popular Latin musician Tito Puente Jr., the son of the late great Latin percussionist and jazz legend Tito Puente, will be the guest ring announcer.

The World Famous KeysDAN will be the IWZ official announcer.

The event also includes appearances by former Miami resident and Latin wrestling legend formerly of the nWo and TNA's LAX, Konnan (Miami-Southwest High School grad), along with fan favorite and former WCW Hardcore champ The Big Wiggle Norman Smiley (Miami Beach Senior High School grad), former WWE tag team champ Heidenreich and TNA star Matt Morgan.

Also see Florida's top independent talent such as Scott Commodity, Tommy and Johnny Vandal, The Falcon, Lou Cypher, Logan Fernandez, Keith Blonde, Chris Jones, Fabulous Frank, Tony Apollo and more.

In the main event, the Puerto Rican monster Black Pain faces Florida star The Sheik, the only man to be blessed by the family of the original Sheik (Ed Farhat) to continue the legacy of one of pro wrestling's most intriguing iconic characters.

The Sheik, also known as Joey Machete/Na$daq of the famed Market Crashers tag team, found success in Puerto Rico early in his career. Cash Money Brothers Soulman Alex G and Ram Man Johnny Evans will also appear.

• The IWZ has secured a TV deal with a local South Florida station which will air the IWZ's program from 8:30-9 p.m. Thursdays beginning May 1 on Comcast-Channel 99.

The IWZ has made great strides in bringing South Florida an independent wrestling product they can call their own, specifically in the Miami Dade County area where Independent wrestling events are seldom held in.

We`at The IWZ are proud to announce that the IWZ and Division One Pro Wrestling ( D1PW ) another South Florida Independent promotion have come to terms which will benefit both parties greatly.

D1PW who has been putting on events through out South Florida for over a year and who's events are aired on TV on channel 19 in parts of Dade and Broward county, along with the IWZ and the IWZ's soon to air TV program beginning in May on Comcast channel 99 in Miami, will be closely working together while sharing talent, collaborating on storylines and exchanging video footage for each to air during their individual TV programs.

This collaboration will benefit both companies greatly and both agree that it assures both D1PW and The IWZ that each product would reach a much wider audience with much more exposure for both companies as combining our TV and efforts we will now be able to be seen in all major cities in Dade County and in parts of Broward.

Such collaboration is not only healthy for the business, but it's smart business, The IWZ along with D1PW will also be working closely with " New Revolution Wrestling " out of Orlando, a company which took a brief hiatus who will be making it's return in May in Orlando with an amazing line up of talent on their card, which include the return of Scott Hall, Heidenreich, Amazing Kong, Matt Morgan, and many of Florida's top talents like Bruce Santee, The Sheik, Vordell Walker, Chasyn Rance and many more who will soon be announced.

The IWZ and it's affiliates D1IPW & NRW's goal and not just as Independent wrestling company's is to create a working relationship with individuals and companies who do business in and around Florida and with those who are highly committed to the welfare of communities found through out the state.

One such individual is Dean Santoro who is a long time wrestling fan and who is running for Congress for District 21.

Santoro will be on hand on April 5th as a special guest ring announcer during The IWZ's debut event " Wrestlephoria " in Homestead ( Miami ) Florida which features such stars as Konnan, Heidenreich, Norman Smiley and many more.

Popular local DJ personality Keys Dan has joined the IWZ as it's official announcer.
